"Bethany and I decided in March that we
would like to hold an art exhibition as part of our homeschooling
program, so we organised art lessons and arranged to display our work at
the local Community Centre. We had to travel down to Castlemaine every
Friday for our art classes. It was hard getting up early and driving for
3 hours, but it was also fun sleeping, giggling, and being mischievous
the whole way there.
"On the opening night it was so exciting
to see more and more people coming through the door. It was also
exciting in the way that we had achieved our goal. Our teacher Sue spoke
on a tape because unfortunately she couldn't make it, and we gave a
speech on how it all came to pass.
"Bethany and I would surely
like to work up to more exhibitions in the future." - Grace, 12
years old
"What a wonderful feeling it was when every
one had come to support and encourage us for our inaugural art
exhibition. The experience was one never to forget. One years
organisation was worth it in the end. i can't explain how excited i was
on the night! It was almost like we were just about to get really really
famous! That's one way i could describe it, but the other feeling is
indescrible all i can say is that i was very nervous and had an
upset stomach especially when the side of my dress was in pieces so i
had to pin it up! (not so delightful.)
"It was a great night!" -
